According to the National Education Association, 160,000 children wont go to school on any given day for fear of being bullieda figure that represents nothing less than an epidemic. Whether a student is overweight, openly gay, perceived as promiscuous, or just plain different, more and more young people are tragically choosing to take their own lives because they cant take it anymore. Are schools not doing enough? Should parents take a share of the blame? In this ABC News program, correspondent Chris Cuomo talks to families, kids, educators, and lawmakers to find out whats going on. He listens to the bullied, confronts the instigators of bullying, and takes viewers inside the Alliance Schoola no-hate, no-bullying zone in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and the only middle school of its kind in the United States.(29 minutes)

Tyler, a teen with Asperger's syndrome is bullied daily at school because he was different. The teen's parents brought the bullying to the school's attention. At age 17, the Tyler killed himself.
School's Responsibility for Bullying (05:03)
School officials refuse to speak with ABC newspersons about bullying. Known bullies drive another young man to suicide after being taunted daily. The school makes excuses and fails to take responsibility.
Girls Bullying Girls (03:54)
The Internet has made bullying easier and harsher than ever. A teen's former friend becomes a tormenter who beats her into unconsciousness.
Death Threats (03:17)
An 11-year-old girl is the target of death threats from her classmates. She became a target when she defended a friend against the same bullies. The school would not protect the child.
What Bullies Say (03:29)
Two middle-school bullies confess that being bullies made them "cool." No one stepped in to stop their behavior, but, they say, it would have been easy for someone to stop them. The bullies say that teachers should intervene.
Respect Not Bullying (03:38)
In the Alliance School, teachers are trained to intervene immediately when confrontations take place. Teachers everywhere must be accountable, but there are no standards and no training for teachers.
