Help kids ages 6-16 learn to solve problems and develop a process for making future decisions when you are not around to guide them. Kids with these life skills can be calm and confident when faced with peer pressure or other social dilemmas. The process helps children describe a situation, consider what options they have in responding to the situation, and finally, choose the solution they think will work best. Building a good relationship with children, teaching them how to say "no" and mean it, how to disagree appropriately, and how to make good decisions will benefit them now and as adults. This DVD can supplement the Common Sense Parenting® course with additional examples of structured decision making, or stand alone as a guide for parents of kids ages 6-16 who want their children to learn how to make good decisions in their absence. Narration from Common Sense Parenting® experts at Boys Town is supplied throughout the video between dramatizations. Showing the DVDs in this series is a good choice for Family Night at school, in waiting rooms where families are served, or as part of any parenting classes. Public performance rights are included.
